State guidelines and testing criteria differ by state, please read or select appropriate state below.

  1. Call your local healthcare provider or hospital if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
  2. Test providers will determine if testing is appropriate for your case based on local criteria.. 
  3. Call the coronavirus test site before you go to confirm all final details.

  • If you are symptomatic and in need of medical care:
      • Call your healthcare provider to identify the safest way to receive care. Let them know if you have traveled to an affected area within the last 14 days or have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19.
      • Local health districts urge residents to only contact their medical professional if it is a serious situation, in order to prevent health care facilities from being inundated with calls and avoid patients arriving at their locations without prior appointments
  • If you are in self-isolation, and your symptoms worsen:
    • Contact the Public health departments in Nevada:
          • Nevada Division of Public & Behavioral Health: (775) 684-5911 (M-F 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM), (775) 400- 0333 (after hours). 
          • In Clark County, contact the Southern Nevada Health District: (702) 759-1300 (24 hours). 
          • In Washoe County, contact Washoe County Health District: (775) 328-2447 (24 hours). 
          • In Carson City and Douglas, Lyon, and Storey Counties, contact Carson City Health and Human Services: (775) 887-2190 (24 hours).
  • If you do not have a provider or are uninsured, call your local Federally Qualified Health Center for evaluation. 

  • Testing decisions are made by the health care provider and public health departments on a case-by-case basis depending upon symptoms and potential exposures. 
  • Nevada has both public health laboratories conducting testing as well as private laboratories.
